Hill Close Gardens Mural

I have recently completed a commission for Hill Close Gardens (hillclosegardens.com) – the Hidden Hedged Gardens of Warwick – an outside mural composed of 24 ‘poetry plaques’ illustrating a famous quote from Shakespeare’s

‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’

I know a bank where the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses, and with eglantine;
There sleeps Titania sometime of the night,
Lull’d in these flowers with dances and delight;
And there the snake throws her enamell’d skin,
Weed wide enough to wrap a fairy in.
Act II Scene I, A Midsummer Night’s Dream
William Shakespeare

Underneath this is a frieze of hedgehogs at ‘child height’ which is to continue the hedgehog theme in the Children’s Garden.
